From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, demons, and dark forces expanding in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might seem unsuited, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their status as important members in the powerful family could enable the team enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to head to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Seekers and Strategists tables.
